Ooh! Where are we going ?

URGENT!!! Is South Africa going to sadly allow poor communities to feed on wildlife from the Kruger National Park? Is Skukuza’s abattoir, once infamous for the large number of elephants that passed across its chopping tables, once again open for business? Is South Africa following Zimbabwe steps in allowing people to banquet on vulnerable species?

 More discussion is going on.

We understand the moral issues linked to allowing animals to die and rot in the face of the huge need in neighbouring areas BUT the moment you feed communities with wild animals, these communities will start demanding regular supply. It is available. It is there. The danger of more poaching is huge when the animals are presented by the authorities as suitable meat. We don’t need more poaching inside the protected areas

These communities should be offered alternatives, instead.
